Malcolm and Annie

About Us
Hello, my name is Malcolm & I’d like to introduce you to my wonderful wife, Annie, and our life together. We’re both 40 years old and live in Kingston, Ontario. I work in IT, focusing on web projects, while Annie works in mental health and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counseling Psychology. We met over ten years ago at a sci-fi speed dating event at FanExpo in Toronto, and ever since, our shared love for all things nerdy and creative has kept us connected and strong. Our hobbies are a true reflection of our personalities. I’m passionate about sci-fi, 3D printing, and writing fiction, while Annie loves crochet, fantasy novels, and writing snail mail messages to her niece and nephew in Tolkien Elvish. Together, we’ve built a warm, loving home in Kingston, where we share our lives with our adorable Bernadoodle, Luna. We have a big family – Annie is the youngest of six siblings, and I’m the oldest of two – which makes us the proud aunt and uncle to a whopping 15 nieces and nephews! If you feel a connection with us and are interested in learning more about our surrogacy journey, we would be thrilled to hear from you. We believe that together, with the help of an amazing surrogate, we can create the family we’ve always dreamed of.
Our Story
Our journey towards parenthood has been filled with challenges, including the loss of two pregnancies and an unsuccessful surrogacy attempt with our sister-in-law. Unfortunately, Annie had to undergo a hysterectomy due to precancerous cells, which makes surrogacy our only path to grow our family. We are looking for a gestational carrier in Ontario who is willing to take the time to get to know us and understand our deep desire to raise a child of our own. We hope to find someone who will be open to the level of connection that feels right for all parties involved. In return, we promise to be respectful and supportive, sharing as much or as little of our lives with our surrogate as she desires. We’re fortunate to have a strong support system in place, including my mother, who lives with us in Kingston, and other nearby family members. Our sister-in-law continues to be one of our biggest surrogacy supporters, despite her own journey as our surrogate not working out. Annie & I understand that we are asking for a significant commitment from our surrogate. We are eternally grateful for anyone who helps us try to give at least one of our two remaining embryos a chance. As we embark on this life-changing journey, we know that the love and appreciation we have for our gestational surrogate will be impossible to fully express in words.

Our Interests
We are huge sci-fi and fantasy fans. We love to travel, writing fiction, playing board games and video games, and learning new things. Annie is also a big fan of crochet and has made dozens of blankets for family members. Malcolm enjoys technology and 3D printing. Our biggest interest is our dog, Luna.

No one likes to talk about surrogate compensation, but it is an important factor in any surrogacy agreement. The following is how we classify high, medium and low compensation (excluding the value of any benefits). Many factors affect surrogate compensation including surrogate experience (e.g., has the woman been a surrogate before?), whether the surrogate is signed up with an agency and surrogate preferences.
- Low = surrogate compensation less than $20,000
- Medium = surrogate compensation between $20,000 and $40,000
- High = surrogate compensation greater than $40,000
