Q: Tell us about yourself!
A: I’m just turning 30. Mother to 2 beautiful children. Aiden, who is 7, and my daughter Reina, who is 5. Both who are autistic. They are my favorite teachers in this class of life. I have been married to my husband, Ariel, for 7 years but we have been together for 9. I’m a loving and caring person. I’m a family person through and through. So if I call you a sister or a brother, then you are stuck with me. I love to give a helping hand whenever I can or even when my heart tells me to. I love to bring a smile and laughter to people’s lives. Also, in my spare time, I love a good diamond painting. I was a city girl, but a year ago we moved to a small town called Fallon, NV. Fun fact: Top Gun was based off of the Navy Air Combat school in our town.
Q: What made you decide to be a surrogate?
A: Ever since I was younger, when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would tell them a mom. As I got older, I always thought about doing something to be remembered for. I wanted to leave my footprint on someone’s life. I also wanted to do something so selfless and priceless. When I tell you being a surrogate is just that, I jumped in with both feet.
Q: You carried twins! How was that?
A: Carrying twins was really a different type of experience. It’s like you lay on one side and then you have to remember, “oh, there are two belly buds in there!” Can’t ever really get comfortable. But it was amazing to feel the different personalities in the two while they were in there. Also, it was really fun to say “the 3 of us!” lol
Q: What was your relationship like with your IFs?
A: My relationship was amazing. It grew into something really beautiful. It was a true honor for them to trust me with their little ones. We still talk. The other day they were telling me sorry for not messaging me as much, I told them “you are raising little people, you’re totally fine!” The pictures I get and seeing them all so happy just warms my heart. They are my family now. Those IFs are like my brothers now and I have a niece and nephew now.
Q: Is there anything from your first journey that you'd want to change or have differently for your second journey?
A: I would not change anything about my first journey. I just wish they were closer so I could see my IFs more. This time my IPs are in the states and friends of mine, so I’m sure they will be over a ton when they can.
Q: What are you most excited about for your second journey?
A: I’m most excited to really educate more about my friends (IPs) and their situation. Also, spreading more awareness to this certain group of people. I also want to bring awareness to POC (people of color) in the surrogacy and IVF world. So thank you so much for this opportunity.
Q: What is the one thing you'd say to a woman thinking about becoming a surrogate?
A: If you have been thinking about becoming a surrogate, that means it’s been on your heart, and it is time. Take that leap because I’m telling you now – the end result is so worth it. You get to help a family and grow your own family.
