Posted by Aostoff on June 29, 2022 at 4:22 pmWhat were some MUST’S for you when going through the legal phase? What were some things that were deal breakers, must have’s, etc!

I’m following because this is something I need some answers to as well!

I revised the mileage reimbursement section with the way these gas prices are going. It was originally reimbursed for anything over 100 miles. I revised it to anything over 40.
Also, chiro care and prenatal massages are very important to me during pregnancy. Most contract templates have it in there that you have to abstain from those. I revised that to say I can do it as long as I’m not told otherwise by fertility clinic or OB.

Oh adjusting the mileage is a great idea especially with the way gas prices are right now! Good thinking!

This is a great one, and I wish I had thought of this! (My clinic is 50 miles round trip – which would not have been as bad a year ago. But currently, that is *a lot* of gas.)

Having a midwife and delivery in a birthing center!
I adjusted my maternity clothes compensation. I didn’t have any maternity clothes at all and have an outdoor job. So depending on the time of year I’m pregnant I would need maternity hiking pants, maternity snow pants, coat extender, thermal clothing. None of that is cheap or easy to find second hand. And if my feet were to swell they would mean new hiking/raining winter boots etc. My IPs ended up completely removing the cap.
Other things I asked for was prenatal classes, prenatal yoga classes since they really helped with aches and pains last time and pelvic physio sessions for after birth.
Set was high on my list but now we are planning a DET (but IPs made it super clear I could say no)
I also had them change the abstainance clause. It said from start of meds until after betas but my partner has had a vasectomy so we changed it from 24hours until betas.

One huge thing for me was no cap on lost wages, childcare, ect. Travel restrictions (over 100 miles) didn’t start until 32 weeks and could be approved by IPs, we like to camp alot in the summer so that was important to me.
Termination decisions, life support decisions, life insurance policy, loss organs… there are so many things!
