    Our aim is to be a place where intended parents and surrogates can get unbiased information about surrogacy in peace. Please refrain from judging others or criticising their choices. Our admin will follow closely and delete any disrespectful comments.
  2. Respect each other's privacy
    Being part of this community requires mutual trust. Authentic and honest discussions will make this forum amazing, but many things said might be private and sensitive.

What's shared here should stay here.

How the Forum works:

  1. Users can earn points:
    • 5 points for starting a conversation that is relevant to surrogacy (limited to one question a day users can ask more questions but they just get 5 points for one)
    • Awarding 5 points for answering a question AND getting a "like". Every additional "like" the person gets earns them 1 additional point.
    • Every week, all users are awarded 5 likes to distribute as they choose. The likes don't roll over so it's just 5 likes a week that they can distribute.
  2. Once a user earns 100 points, we get notified and you'll receive a $100 amazon gift card.
  3. Getting a certain number of points will get you the rank of "experienced surrogate" or "experienced intended parent".

    Normal to be nervous about screening ultrasound?

    Hello!

    We have (finally!) completed everything else – the *only* item remaining is my screening ultrasound next week. I read that it is pretty unusual to have any major issues come up with this alone, especially if you have no prior history of any issues, have obviously met all of the other screening requirements, etc. Is this generally true? (Obviously it is not well documented!)

    Totally normal to be nervous! Especially if it’s that final thing to check off your list before officially being medically cleared. The clinic that I worked with said that it’s not super common to find something on the ultrasound if the GC is regularly attending their well-woman checks every year and if nothing had been brought up/diagnosed by their OBGYN previously. Fingers crossed for you! Good luck! 🙂

    Hi Ashley! I totally agree with Tandy – it is SO normal to be nervous! There are a lot of nerve-wracking steps towards surrogacy and I think we all feel that. It is so uncommon for them to find anything alarming at this appointment especially if you have passed everything else! Sending you all the best of luck!

      Thank you both for your reassurance. I know there is absolutely nothing I can do, so that is probably why it makes me a little anxious. Legal is also now completed, so if everything goes well, we can move right along! I will update next week on how it goes – there is nothing worse than scrolling through a forum and never knowing what happened with the OP! 🙂
