My family was super supportive by always checking in and asking what I need, even though I am notorious for never actually asking for what I need lol.
My IPs were amazing at having really open communication. My IM texted me daily to see how baby and I were feeling. She also spoiled me with gifts that are still so special to me. I was so lucky that my IPs live about an hour away so my IM was at every appointment. I never felt like I was alone in the journey. Even though I know she was feeling so much anxiety she always made sure I was ok.

I felt extra supported by my surrogacy coordinator at the agency I was with. I appreciated that she made time to check in on me specifically and how I was doing outside of the surrogacy journey. Going through this process as a GC, it is so easy to feel like that’s all you are, so having someone (agency, IPs, other support person) intentionally take steps to remind you that you are a whole person outside of surrogacy was a big deal for me during my journey.
