OUR STORY
We met on a dating app, but it turns out A grew up around the corner from J’s cousins and rode the bus with them to school! Our connection was immediate, J’s dad is from New Orleans, A is from New Orleans, we had so many interests and quirks in common and loved spending time with each other so much we thought we should do it forever. Plus, there were enough other coincidences we knew it was meant to be. We got engaged after a year and a half of dating. We would have had kids earlier, but I was helping take care of my mom who died in 2020 from glioblastoma and I became chronically ill soon after.
OUR INTERESTS
We enjoy traveling to Europe, going to the beach/ocean, going home to New Orleans and Montreal. We both enjoy science fiction books a lot. We love having people over to grill in our apartment buildings outdoor space and for holidays.
WHAT LED US TO SURROGACY
A was diagnosed with some serious chronic conditions a few years ago. She’s now in remission but her doctor recommended surrogacy to avoid a potential postpartum flare that would require serious treatment and prevent A from being able to care for an infant.
OUR HOPES AND DREAMS FOR OUR FUTURE CHILD
We want our child to grow up in a safe, loving, and supportive community surrounded by opportunities to pursue whatever sparks their interest.
FAMILY TRADITIONS AND VALUES
New Orleans Mardi Gras, volunteering and charitable giving, collecting acorns at the beginning of Fall, a love for reading and books.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A MATCH
We’d like to have an honest and open relationship. We don’t need to be best friends, but regular communication, and early communication about any problems, is a must.
