OUR STORY
My husband and I met 15 years ago in our hometown in India through a matchmaking app. We liked each other on the very first meeting and started dating. After a year, we decided to get married. Shortly after our marriage we moved to the US and started a new journey. Since then, we have moved between different states and also stayed in Canada for a year. We both focused on our careers and worked hard to establish ourselves in a foreign land. Once I completed my master’s degree in 2018, we decided to plan a family. It was then that we discovered an aggressive ovarian cyst which had come back after a previous surgery. I had to undergo a second surgery immediately afterwards, however, it has been a long winding road for us. I have undergone some IUIs (initially) and many IVF cycles to harvest embryos. I have a hydrosalpinx and needed a surgery risking the loss of the remaining ovary, hence our doctor recommended harvesting embryos first. Finally, after 6 years and freezing 6 embryos, we decided to get the hydro removed and start transferring but unfortunately my surgery was no successful and the surgeon couldn’t remove the tube.We decided to move forward with the transfers anyway. We tried two transfers but both of them failed. At this point, we have 4 embryos left and the hydrosalpinx creates a less than optimal environment for transferring embryos. Our doctor recommended surrogacy to give our embryos the best chance. Both of us love children and are well settled to support a growing family. We genuinely hope to find the right person who can help us achieve the greatest gift of our lives.
OUR INTERESTS
I (A) love to dance. I am trained in Indian classical dance and perform regularly. My husband (P) plays violin and is currently taking lessons as well. Both of us are big time foodies, we cook our favorite food and explore unique restaurants. We love to travel and share interest for outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, camping to name a few.
WHAT LED US TO SURROGACY
I (A) have premature ovarian insufficiency due to previous surgeries and my only tube is blocked. We have spent the last 6 years harvesting 6 embryos. Then I underwent a surgery to remove the hydro so that I could start transferring the embryos. But the surgery wasn’t successful and the hydro couldn’t be removed. We proceeded to transfer the embryos anyway. The first transfer failed so my doctor made some changes to my treatment approach and tried another transfer. However, that failed too. They believe that the hydro can interfere with the implantation process and poses a threatening environment for the embryo. At this point, my doctors believe that the best course of action for having a live birth is to look for a gestational carrier.
OUR HOPES AND DREAMS FOR OUR FUTURE CHILD
Both my husband and I come from very warm and close-knit families. We look forward to provide the same to our child/ren. We believe that the foundation of a wholesome personality starts from a secured, loving and responsible home. Our parents and extended families share the same sentiment too and I can’t wait for them to shower their love on our children. We are financially well positioned to support children in every possible way. We both are highly educated and want to provide our children with the opportunities and resources to obtain a quality education and co-curricular training as well.
FAMILY TRADITIONS AND VALUES
We are not only a couple but very good friends of one another. We both are fun-loving and share a warm relationship. We have been married for 14 years and are each other’s rock. We hope to provide the same warmth to our child. Moreover, I have been brought up by open-minded parents who let me choose my likings and passions instead of imposing their own will on their children, I envision a similar upbringing for my children too.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A MATCH
We want to have good communication with our surrogate throughout the pregnancy and support them in the pregnancy journey. We are open to have communication after the birth of our child as well. Once the child is older, we would like to prioritize their choice regarding the kind of communication they want to have with their surrogate.
