Adriana & Matthew

A LITTLE ABOUT US

Matt and I have known each other since we were kids and have been together since 15 and 16 (17 years!!). We have been married for 9 years. We literally grew up together and have walked through different phases of life with each other. We are best friends and we have always dreamed of a family after we each chased our individual goals and passions. Matt went to medical school to become a family doctor and I went to school to become a midwife and lactation consultant! We decided we were ready in 2020-2021 to grow our family and the journey since then has been one for the books!!!

We pursued IVF and made embryos initially in 2023 with the plan of myself carrying. We had also tried two rounds of medicated IUIs and didn’t have success. In the process of figuring out why I was having difficulty getting pregnant and staying pregnant, we discovered that I have Stage 3 endometriosis and countless fibroids. To remove these, I have had several corrective surgeries, but I have struggled with recurrence.

Amazingly, I was able to conceive our daughter, Evangeline, without IVF after 5 years of infertility. I kept her in until 30 weeks and had a complicated birth with her in 2025. She needed to be born early via c-section following my uterus rupturing, and her umbilical cord prolapsing. At the time, we also discovered that I had a placenta accreta. Thankfully she was born safely and just needed a long NICU stay to grow bigger and stronger.

However, today I no longer have my fallopian tubes and my uterus is too damaged to safely carry another pregnancy. I am so grateful that I got to carry once, and I will hold the memories of her kicks and her flutters with me forever. We are so excited to still have the option to expand our family with a gestational carrier using our embryos from 2023.

We parent Eva with love and patience and look forward to giving her a sibling to grow up with! We want to build a lifelong relationship with our gestational carrier and their family since they will be playing such an important role in our family’s life.

HOW WE SPEND OUR TIME

Matt loves Star Wars, going to the gym, and video games! Ady loves baking and cooking, fixing up their 90s home, and going to spin class. We both love spending time with our pugs (our first babies) Bernie and Winnie!

WHAT WE ARE MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO

Our hopes are for this baby to know how loved and cherished they are always and to know that they will always have us in their corner, despite how old they grow. We have been picturing our family for many years. We believe that the gift that years of infertility gave us was true appreciation for how miraculous and special it is to raise children. We are so grateful every day to have the opportunity to be parents.

OUR FAMILY AND ENVIRONMENT

Our family is within driving distance to relatives, and we have a strong, loving, support system. We aim to create an environment for our kids where they can feel comfortable to be themselves and be loved without conditions. We are a Latino and White family and we aim to raise our kids around family/friends of different beliefs and ways of life.

WHAT ARE WE HOPING FOR IN A MATCH

We would love someone who is open to a lifelong relationship beyond carrying our baby. We will be forever grateful for them and want our baby to know who brought them earth side safely. We want to work with someone kind, patient, and communicative. And someone who is not closed off to vaccines and necessary OB intervention.
