Jimmy & Gina

OUR STORY

Two separate mutual friends approached us about each other and suggested we be introduced. We quickly realized we shared many of the same friends but somehow never actually met. We even discovered we had spent an entire summer in the exact same village in Greece without crossing paths.

Our numbers were exchanged, and Jimmy was the first to text. Our very first phone conversations lasted six hours. We laughed, shared stories, compared all the people we knew, and scheduled our first official date. For the rest of that week, none of our converstaions were any shorter we simply couldn’t stop talking. (Which actually helped prepare us for the long conversations we’d have during the COVID lockdown later on!)

We had originally planned to meet for dinner, but the day of our date Gina wasn’t feeling well and had to cancel. Jimmy says, “I’ll admit, I thought she might be ghosting me!” 🤣 Thankfully we met the next night instead, and from the moment we met something special clicked. It felt easy and natural, even with the first-date jitters. We ended up spending eight hours together just talking and laughing, and by our third date we both knew we had found our match.

Our love story has truly been one of great adventures. Not long after we started dating, we experienced the COVID lockdown together, which meant getting creative with our time. We had FaceTime date nights, cooking parties, and even movie nights separately but still together. Those moments showed us how strong our connection was, even when the world felt uncertain.

Through every unexpected moment, one thing has always remained the same we face everything together. These experiences have only strengthened our bond and reminded us how grateful we are to have each other.

Family has always been the center of our lives. We were both raised in big, loving Greek families where gatherings were loud, joyful, and filled with love. Growing up surrounded by cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents taught us how special family truly is. Today we are the proud (and very fun) aunt and uncle to our nieces and nephews, and being part of their lives has been one of our greatest joys.

Watching our siblings and close friends become parents has inspired us to begin this journey ourselves. We dream about adding a baby to our home and creating a lifetime of memories together. Simple moments like bedtime stories, family dinners, holidays, and new adventures are things we long to experience as parents. Our home is full of love, laughter, and support, and we feel so ready to share that with a child. 🧿

 OUR INTERESTS:

We both love staying active and spending time together exploring new places. Traveling is something we really enjoy, along with trying new restaurants and cozy cafés around the city. Gina loves reading and is very philanthropic. She had her own charity with her friends and has always cared deeply about helping others and giving back to the community. Jimmy enjoys playing video games and keeping up with new technology. It’s something he has always been interested in and loves learning more about.

Sports have always played a big role in our lives. We both grew up very athletic. Gina danced all the way through college, and Jimmy played soccer into his mid-twenties. Staying active and enjoying sports is still something we both love. We enjoy finding fun, new activities to try around the city but also when we are traveling.

We were both raised in very loving homes with big, lively Greek familes always around us. Family gatherings were full of laughter, food, and lots of relatives, music and that strong sense of culture, faith, and family is something that has shaped who we are today.

WHAT LED US TO SURROGACY

Gina has thought about surrogacy for many years, a path that became clearer through her long complicated health journey. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just 12 years old and managed it with incredible strength and resilience. Over time, complications from diabetes and prior medications led to kidney failure.

When Gina learned she would need a transplant, she made the courageous decision to undergo a dual transplant both a kidney and a pancreas with the hope of eliminating the ongoing complications of diabetes. While waiting for her transplant, Gina began dialysis. True to who she is, she refused to let that season define her. The very same day she started dialysis, she also began her second master’s degree, bringing her schoolwork with her to dialysis treatments several times a week.

On July 6, 2019, she received the life-changing call that a kidney and pancreas were waiting for her. Today, Gina lives a healthy life thanks to those transplants, but she must take daily immunosuppressant medications to protect her organs. Because pregnancy could put both her health and her transplanted organs at risk, we knew we needed to explore another path to parenthood.

Our dream has always been to become parents. Surrogacy allows us to protect Gina’s health while still growing the family we’ve always hoped for and welcoming a child into a home filled with love, laughter, faith, and support. ✝

HOPES AND DREAMS FOR OUR FUTURE CHILD🧿

Our greatest hope for our child is that they grow up feeling deeply loved, cared for, and supported every step of the way. We want them to have access to a great education and opportunities that allow them to learn, grow, and discover their passions.

We hope to give them meaningful life experiences, including the chance to travel, explore different cultures, and develop an appreciation of the world around them. Our faith is also an important part of our lives, and we hope to share those values and traditions with our child as they grow.

Most importantly, we want our child to live a happy and fulfilling life. We will always support them in whatever path they choose and encourage them to become the person they are meant to be, knowing they will always have our love and support behind them.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A MATCH

We hope to build a relationship with our surrogate that is open, trusting, and supportive throughout the entire journey. We want her to feel completely comfortable sharing her thoughts, questions, and experiences with us at any time, and we hope to do the same in return. For us, this is a true partnership, and we want her to know that her well-being physically, emotionally, and mentally is important to us. We want to check in weekly to hear how our surrogate is feeling, checking in on her happiness and help support any stress she may be experiencing.

We imagine staying connected through regular updates, messages, or visits when possible, celebrating milestones together, and sharing in the excitement of each step along the way. We hope to foster a bond that feels respectful, warm, and genuine one filled with laughter, encouragement, positivity, and support.
